Class 1 & Class 2

It is possible to undertake Motorcycle MOT tests on equipment designed for four-wheeled vehicles but if you specialise in motorcycles and you plan to make the Class 1 & 2 MOT Test as efficient as possible, then your best option is always going to be equipment that has been designed for the job.

Importantly, the Class 1 & 2 test does not currently include an emissions test, so that’s one costly piece of equipment that’s not needed.

The key equipment required for the Class 1 & 2 MOT Test includes:

• A ‘connected’ motorcycle brake tester*
• A headlamp beam tester
• A motorcycle work bench – Important for motorcycle inspection and any necessary remedial work but a recommendation only, not a requirement for a motorcycle MOT bay
• We also offer motorcycle tyre changers and wheel balancers, which you may also wish to consider, for remedial work

*Connected equipment is linked directly to the MOT Testing System (MTS), which saves time, input errors, and the need to print results. Click here for more information on Connected Equipment.
